Orthodontics

Orthodontics is not just for kids any more and not just for pretty smiles. We practice functional orthodontics where healthy jaw joints and proper breathing are the focus of treatment.

 

PHASE 1 ORTHODONTICS

Because 60% of the face is developed by age 8 and 90% by age 12, it is important to address the skeletal "bone" problems at an early age. Between ages 6-9, we are looking at creating proper size arches to accomodate all the permanent teeth and aligning the upper and lower jaws properly. Our goal is to create an environment where the jaw joint is healthy, the airway is open to encourage nasal breathing, and enough space for all the permanent teeth. More on Orthodontics Phase I

PHASE 2 ORTHODONTICS

Phase 2 involves using brackets (braces) to align the teeth to a beautiful smile. Treatment begins when all or nearly all the permanent teeth have erupted and ideally just before the pubertal growth spurt. Patients may choose from metal braces with colored ties or clear braces for a less obvious look. More on Orthodontics.

ADULT ORTHODONTICS
